Having worked as a bridal seamstress for three years, I am interested in creating garments that are both comfortable and fashionable. My ideal garment is one that looks equally great when inspected up close and worn in daily life, with carefully crafted details making up a coherent whole.
Like most of my work in this course so far, this collection revolves around utilitarian and non-gender-conforming fashion, stark but complimenting colours, interesting materials, and great attention to detail. I hope to apply the skills I have developed as a consequence of taking this course and working on this collection to continue my career as a seamstress and, perhaps, one day in the future, open my own fashion non-profit designing and making accessible and stylish clothing for people with disabilities.
