Future: BA Fashion Design with Business at Glasgow Caledonian, September 2021

Emily Walker During my time studying fashion design, I have curated my skills and aesthetic approach to designing. A particular strength of mine that I have developed is collaging which I do manually and digitally. I find it a good way to start visualising a concept or collection by finding images of fashion and non-fashion that inspire me. While being in lockdown and still having to complete my HND I had to overcome obstacles such as taking more independence in my work and as such I have improved in pattern cutting and managed to make pieces that I think are a true representative of me as a designer. I have always partaken in creative projects, for example, I’ve done portfolio classes and public exhibitions with GSA. I have also done work experience in interior and textiles and styling for a brands photo shoot. These projects gave me an understanding of how the creative industry works and the confidence to pursue this for my future job.
